Naturalisation as a British Citizen

Naturalisation is the most common route to citizenship for adults. Applicants must:

    • Be aged 18 or over
    • Have lived lawfully in the UK for at least 5 years (or 3 years if married to a British citizen).
    • Hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or EU Settled Status, and have held it for at least 12 months (unless married to a British citizen)
    • Meet strict absence limits (no more than 270 days outside the UK in 5 years or 90 days in the last year for spouses)
    • Prove knowledge of English and pass the Life in the UK test
    • Be of good character and intend to live permanently in the UK

We guide clients through the full application process—completing Form AN, assembling evidence, preparing referee statements, booking biometrics, and submitting the application.

Registration of Children or Adults as British Citizens

Certain individuals with inherent claims to citizenship—such as children born to British parents overseas or adults with legacy rights—must register rather than naturalise. Registration routes include:

      • Children born abroad to British parents
      • Stateless individuals born in the UK
      • Adults with claims under past Commonwealth or British subject rights

Our team assesses eligibility, assists with Form MN1 or equivalents, provides evidence support, and ensures accurate submission to maximise success.
