Tier 1 – Exceptional Talent and Exceptional Promise
Tier 1 Exceptional Talent and Exceptional Promise visa routes are available to people working in qualifying fields who have been validated as a recognized leader in their field.
However, this may be subject to the changes under the new proposed points based system.

In order to avail visa under this category the applicant must be economically active in their chosen field, which then has to be certified by a Designated Competent Body. Some of the Designated Competent Bodies available, are as follows:

● The Royal Academy of Engineering
● The British Academy
● British Fashion Council
● Royal Institute of British Architects
● Tech Nation
● The Royal Society
● Arts Council England
● And others (please contact us for more information on this)

It is important to note that there are 2,000 places available under this particular visa category every year, so the competition is extremely fierce. Applicants who are granted visa under the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent may apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK after 3 years from the date of their visa approval, whilst an individual granted the Exceptional Promise visa can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after 5 years from the date of grant of leave to remain. This is of course subject to satisfying a number of requirements. Individuals granted under this visa category can work for an employer, work as a director of a company or be self-employed and are not required to notify the Home Office of any changes of employment. They may also apply to bring their dependent family members with them to the UK.

Tier 1 – Entrepreneur
The Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa was designed for business investors seeking to establish, take over or be actively involved in the running of a business in the UK. This route closed to new applicants in March 2019.
